Our Honey is all-natural. Never heated or filtered, just like nature intended.

Honey is a wonderfully sweet, thick liquid made by the honeybees. They collect the sugar-rich nectar from flowers and take it back to the hive where they store the nectar in the cells of their honeycomb. They dry it to a moisture level below 18%, creating a product that bacteria and mold cannot survive on. For this reason, honey stays relatively fresh and edible indefinitely.

The honey is stored by the bees, primarily as a food source for the winter months. The color and taste of the honey depends on the types of flowers the honeybees visited during their nectar collecting flights.

A tablespoon of honey contains about 17 grams of sugar, including fructose, glucose, maltose and sucrose and may be slightly better for persons with diabetes than processed sugars. It may also lower "bad" LDL cholesterol, triglycerides and inflammation while raising "good" HDL cholesterol.

Honey is known to contain high levels of antioxidants which have been linked to reduced risk of heart attacks, strokes and some types of cancer. Darker types of honey have been found to have higher levels of antioxidants than the lighter varieties. These antioxidants may lead to reductions in blood pressure, an important risk factor for heart disease. They may also help the arteries in your heart dilate, increasing blood flow help prevent blood clot formation, which can lead to heart attacks and strokes.

Topical applications of honey have been known to help cure wounds, burns, ulcers and lesions. It is believed that honey’s healing powers come from its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects as well as its ability to nourish surrounding tissue.

As you can see, honey is a terrific alternative to refined sugars but it's important to choose a natural, pure, raw honey that retains all of the vitamins, minerals, enzymes and antioxidants. Lower quality honeys are often heated and filtered or adulterated with syrups that eliminate these benefits.

Returning crystallized honey to a liquid state, safely!

Heat water up on the stove to about 105 degrees Fand set a jar of crystallized honey into the water, maintaining that level of heat. Be sure not to overheat and destroy the precious enzymes and healthy benefits! You can stir the honey to help the process along. Do not let water get into the jar of honey, if you decide to remove the lid and stir. Never microwave your honey either, as a way to decrystallize! Always remember, crystallizing is natural and a great sign that it’s pure honey.

What is Hemp?

Hemp, or industrial hemp, is a strain of the Cannabis sativa plant species that is grown specifically for the industrial uses of its derived products.

What is the difference between Cannabis and Hemp?

Cannabis and hemp belong to the same plant genus and species, Cannabis sativa, with one major difference: Cannabis contains “THC” that can get you “high,” while hemp does not. Cannabis or marijuana as it is known in the United States is defined as any Cannabis sativa plant that has greater than 0.3 percent THC. THC, short for tetrahydrocannabinol, is the primary psychoactive compound in cannabis. The more THC you consume, the more chances you will notice in your cognition and how you feel. In essence, it is the THC that gets you “high.” Hemp plants are defined as any cannabis plant that has 0.3 percent or less THC.

Is hemp legal?

It wasn’t until the passing of the Farm Bill of 2014 that changes began to happen for hemp plants. This bill defined hemp plants as those with 0.3 percent or less THC and allowed for limited industrial hemp growth and research. Then with the passing of the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018, also known as the 2018 Farm Bill, that hemp agriculture and products became legal in all 50 states. This increased legality is largely to thank for the rapid acceleration in the diversity and availability of hemp-derived products.

What is hemp used for?

Hemp plants are bred and grown for their fiber or seeds to be used for things like fabric and textiles, food, supplements, environmental and body products.
